What is the accuracy rate of the HPV test?
We use the cobas® HPV test, an FDA-approved, clinically validated test that detects HPV 16 and HPV 18 individually, plus 12 other high-risk HPV types in a pooled result. It is one of the most widely used HPV screening tests in the United States.
The cobas® HPV test has a sensitivity of approximately 98–99%, meaning it is highly accurate at detecting high-risk HPV infections linked to cervical cancer. In one large clinical study, sensitivity was reported at 98.66%.
